Tired and Still Raining!

It's still raining...this has been the longest stretch of rainy days yet this season, we even got a tornado warning today!

Headaches and Rain!

For some reason I seam to get headaches when the barometric pressure is changing, I must somehow be sensitive to changes in pressure. Which is weird cause I don't seem to have a problem flying? Go figure! So it was pouring rain, like east coast style on my way in...it cleared out for the most part late in the evening.

No Sports Gambling For Me!

All my teams lost....I was going for the both the Packers and the Chargers. Oh well maybe I need to root for New England for Eli and the Giants to score an upset at the Super Bowl! I love it, ever since they added expansion teams and more games to the season the big game is usually on my birthday weekend!

Today I took my mom to the airport, she went to the motherland to see her parents. I hate airports becuase of their inefficiency, but at least today was not that bad. I was only their for about an hour. I am sure it was because of the holiday and all.

Steak and Potatoes!

So every now and then we do some cooking out at work! It works out real well since we normally cook a nice cut of steak, the woman doesn't eat the red meat so this is one of the few times that I do get to enjoy a well cooked steak. It was a little too cold to grill today so we used the broiler instead.

Our TV tuner is down so we are stuck listening to the game on a little tv!

What I Want!

Here is something I found very interesting....this car basically uses the same engine some pick up trucks out in the road use and is the fastest production car in the world. I think there is something fascinating about that, what foreign car makers charge millions of dollars for some guys can put something together from pre-existing parts here in the states. This kind of reminds me of the Cobra-Ferrari wars of the 60's where a bunch of Southern California Hotrodders essentially built a faster better car than those Italian guys!

New Year New Policy!

The minimum call in time for o/t is four hours now, and they needed somebody to sign a Haz-Waste manifest tonight. Operators normally don't deal with this but sometimes this is needed at odd hours therefore some operators have to take this boring training class that allows us to sign said manifest, since I happened to be one of those lucky ones that did take the class I was called in. So I put my boots, and took off to work just to sign my life away...when I got there the paperwork wasn't filled out yet, this is normally taken care of by the disposal company but I guess they were slacking tonight. A few minutes later I was on my way back home. I guess I am lucky I live near work cause this could really suck for someone that lives further away!

Downtown Sux!

I took my mom to get her passport today, she is looking at going to visit my grandparents soon so I took her to the Mexican Consulate in downtown L.A. to get her passport taken care of! Ultimately I guess it is pretty fast turnaround to get a new passport in a day, but for the amount of people they took care of you would think this process would be quicker. I guess I just hate waiting, and since I am the one that took her, I feel like this process could have been more streamlined. We were there at 7am, and she was out at about 3pm in the afternoon! I made a few laps around a nearby park which did kill a few hours, and then took several naps in my car which was nice. Next time (if there is one) I would rather drive to a better staffed office, or take my laptop to wait more patiently!

Rainy Weekend!!!!

So it was supposed to start raining this last Thursday, the news weather folk were trying to scare us into a frenzy saying that this was gonna be the worst storm in years! It really didn't pack much of a punch, and somehow it was really nice to us by only raining at night. It came late on Friday raining all night clearing by morning. It was the same for the next storm, it came late last night and now it's pretty much all gone. It has been windy though and the rain was coming in sideways!


On a differenct note, last night we went out for dinner using one of our christmas gifts! It was nice to eat out pretty much for free, unfortunately the wait was a very long one. So we walked around a few of the shops in the shopping center! The rain hadn't showed up yet, and it was nice just walking around some of the shops!

About Freakin' Time!!!!

Happy New Year's everyone.....I had a blast but it is time for a New Year! The Party at Pat's house was great!!!! I did the routine and called/texted everyone I could at midnights (several time zones).
