This last weekend I was invited to go snowboarding by our friend Nikki. We had never gone before, but I figured it was worth a try! And man was it worth it, I had sooo much fun! In fact I should have taken Nikki's brother up on his wager, he wanted to bet us $100 that he would get the hand of it first. I am not one to steal candy from a baby, so I didn't take that bet! We went up to Mountain High which is about an hour away, and man was it fun. I was tearing up the bunny slopes like a pro! I did fall on my butt a few times off the lift, but after that the Lou was making it look easy. The funniest part was when the instructor was yelling at Senia cause she wouldn't listen to some basic instructions!!!! In fact near the end of the day, when she called it quits in the middle of the slope she unstraps her board halfway up the mountain placing the board smooth side down. I saw all this happening about 100 yards down the mountain from where I see her barely make an effort to catch her board as I yell at her to jump for it. Well instead I run (if you can call it that) with both feet strapped on to my board and dive for her board saving the day. Anyhow here are some pics of the action!

Wally just had a baby boy, you can see pics at this blog tracking his progress!
In other news work is great and the rain seems to be coming in, I guess that puts a wrench in my plans to ride to work tonight!

I Need a New Alarm Clock!
My alarm clock finally called it quits this morning. I actually woke up a little on the early side at around 5 this morning so I decided to get a few more minutes of sleep, and before I knew it I was running a little late. Now here is the funny part, after taking a quick shower to wake up I threw on the same jeans I had wore the night before. This isn't really that big of a deal except that the night before was a long night, and when I came in I was in a hurry to change into my nighttime clothing. Compounding things this morning was being in a hurry to change into my work wear. When I finally made it in to work, I finally decided to look into one of my pant legs that had been feeling a little heavier than normal. Now all I will say here is that I found some extra clothing that somehow made it all the way to work with me from the night before! How this happened without me noticing is a mystery to me. I blame the alarm clock!

Happy VD!
So another Valentines Day good and over with...I hate the commercialism of it all, but I put my views and opinions aside every year for this one! I woke up early this year and I watched the news for a little bit before I took off shopping for candy and flowers. I was smarter this year and bought everything early! I got some flowers and chocolates for the GF, some flowers for our best friend Nikki, and a chocolate flower for a friend/co-worker of my GF. I had the day off so I took them to Senia personally, and as usual parking in the miracle mile district of L.A. sucked. It took me a while to find a spot to fit the Lou's monster truck, but at least the guy that parked before me left enough money on the meter that I did not need to pay!!!! Anyhow, her office happens to be at the top floor so I had to hear it all the way up on the elevator, women get all crazy around flowers I guess. I sure wish people would mind their own business though. Anywho, I finally get to her office and deliver the goods. I felt bad cause she works with so many girls, so I apologize to all those guys out there; but I did not feel so bad since I made her share some of her goodies. Plus I hadn't seen some of her co-workers in a while, so that was pretty cool to see some of them again. I still think I might be traumatized from the elevator ride, that was definitely not the smoothest moment for the Lou! Woman, get a job on the first floor next time!

I Am Gonna Kick Some Tail!
So after my friend Ryan's surprise birthday party I came back home to a surprise birthday dinner for me on Monday. I really hate surprises especially when I am the recipient, but it was pretty low key and it was at Bennigans which is my favorite place (of all the chain restaurants) to have dinner. I was actually kind of mad, but with all the presents I got for my birthday I got over it pretty quick!

Surprise Birthday Party!!!!
So the weekend was really cool. I was invited to visit an old friend's 30th birthday party. We went through the Nuke training pipeline together, and we share the same birthday...Today the 5th! The party was on Saturday though (being a surprise and all) with a couple of other guys I went through the pipeline with attending the party. Most of them ended up on the Lincoln which was out of Everett, and I did see them every now and then while I was living it up in Bremerton!!!! So that was pretty cool, I got to hear them complain about surface life and myself I got to complain about sub life. The party was held in Paso Robles, about a three hour drive for me. The coolest thing aside from meeting up with friends, was the wine! Apparently Paso Robles has a great wine country too, so me and the old lady left a day early to investigate this matter. We are planning on going back in May for their wine festival!!!!
In other news my Jury Duty service is over, It was a Domestic Violence case. The funny thing was that the only witness/evidence came from a person that lied under oath, and we deliberated for a day and half. This was because the women in the Jury (8 women/4 guys) needed some convincing. People forget that you are innocent until proven guilty. No proof = Innocent, that is just the way it works folks.

Made It!
Ok we made it, we made the destination for our little road trip we had planned for this weekend just now! I will post the details tomorrow since the destination is top secret! We got a late start since we actually started deliberating today and I did not get out of court till around 5pm, we continue deliberating Monday. This really sucked since it put me in some serious traffic around the L.A. area. This really sucked and added about an hour to the road trip. Oh well, we are here and will start early tomorrow since we have some ground to make up!

I Made The Final Cut :(
So I made the final cut, I am one of the twelve jurors on a trial for rest of this week and probably all of next week. I am not happy, but I really can't complain since other jurors tried to get out of it with some pretty good reasons and were shot down by the judge. I guess if it does last those 10 days I would be getting $150 (at $15/day) plus some change for mileage. Since work is covering me for those days, I find it hard to complain even though it is a major inconvenience. My plans for taking off on a little road trip this weekend early Friday morning were ruined. I will be leaving late Friday instead, and coming back early Sunday. So the instead of a 2 day road trip that I planned on it is more like a 1 day trip. I can't miss the game you know, it has become a small tradition ever since the NFL went to the wildcard. The big game got pushed back to right around my birthday when they added the wildcard, in fact last year it was on my Birthday! Those darn founding fathers messing up my weekend plans. How dare them!
