Volunteering Again!

We arrived a little late from our drive today, we came from Nathan's back up to Seattle and hit some minor traffic. My girlfriend had to help setup for this thing (fundraiser) tomorrow, and the funniest thing...Flint calls me up to find out where I'm at and it turns out he is at the University too! Of course he is a student here, so we met up a couple of minutes later. I was so happy that now I had a way of getting out of doing odd jobs for my girlfriend and her co-workers, but noooooo was I wrong. I ended up running a little errand to get some supplies, which did not take all that long and was right next to a Burgermaster. In fact it is probably the best burger joint ever! But when I got back, somehow I got swindled into helping. Then somehow, I ended up getting poor old Flint involved too. It all worked out for the best though, we ended up taking him along for dinner. He was added to the reservation list in appreciation for his help.

New Stuff

I think it is really cool that they are building a new Tacoma Narrow's Bridge right next to the old one! I got to go back to Silverdale and also visit my old neighborhood, I was really sorry that I won't be in town for demolition derby. I did drive by that area since that was my old neighborhood, and I was really impressed with what they have done to the fairgrounds. It has got baseball fields, tennis courts, it looks really nice there! So without further ado here is one reason thatI came to Seattle for!!!!!

Plans For Going Up To The Northwest!

So I will be flying out next Tuesday and arriving some time in the late afternoon. I will be staying in Tacoma, cause I am a cheap bastard, however on Friday and Saturday we will be staying in downtown Seattle. Now as far as plans go, we have none...except for Saturday. Somewhere in between there I would like to visit Flint, Nate and Christina, and Chung's! I am real sorry for the late notice, but I am terrible at making plans. I just barely booked our rooms last night!

Happy FTN Day!

Well.....Kind of! I really can't claim today as FTN day, because basically everyday is FTN Day! However today marks the day I was set free 3 years ago from my indentured servitude! My End of Active Service (EAOS) was actually yesterday...However I have chosen to celebrate the day after, the first whole day I was completely free. I did not celebrate this momentous occasion though, mostly cause I will be heading off to Seattle in a few days! Also cause I am working tonight, and last time I celebrated something before I came in to work, it was not pretty for the first few hours! I did manage to text Tom to congratulate him, since his day was a couple days before mine. Whitney's day would be coming up too, but unfortunately his was extended a couple of months to the right when he sold his soul to the Devil!

First Time!

This year will be the first time I have planned on voting, in fact I just registered. This is basically due to the fact that I finally feel that I have the time and resources to finally vote properly. I never wanted to vote without knowing what I was voting for, I feel I have the resources and time to do so now at this time! Now I know that in doing so I will probably be setting myself up for Jury Duty, which I have managed to avoid for this long. Anyhow, deadline is approaching if anyone else out there needs to register!

Unfortunately I have to announce that the biggest thing I was looking forward to on my trip to the Northwest will be unavailable during my stay. I will be missing the Kitsap Demolition Derby, which is actually known as a destruction derby for some reason. I remember the good ol' days where I lived right next to it, and would walk to the fairgrounds for some senseless destruction of old cars!

Highest Bid!

In an attempt to raise the price on somebody's season tickets they were selling on ebay, I ended up winning the bid! Now I gotta figure out what to do with them. Dexter....Help!

I Smell Like Gas!

Apparently carbureted bikes that normally run rich to begin with (air cooled american bikes), run really rich at higher elevations. Today I took part in my second official motorcycle ride. It was my first with a rider, which made it a whole different challenge! This was very much the case when the passenger you are riding with likes moving around at slower speeds...when balance is essential! The ride started out at a Harley shop in Glendale, hence the majority of the bikes participating were Harley's, it went North on the 2 freeway, to the 210 west, then south on some highway that cut through the mountains which provided some challenging maneuvers. The ride ended in Calabasas. The whole ride took about 90 minutes, this in addition to the forty minutes it took to get there plus about an hour to get back home. Speaking of the ride home, the funniest thing happened to me on the way home! What felt like a cigarette landing on my chest was actually a bee stinging me at 70 MPH or so. Ouch!

Running On Empty!

I am a horrible biker! I had realized today that I had been running on a flat front tire for a very long time. How this is possible I just don't know? I had noticed that my bike was somewhat heavier to push, but other than that it was running just fine. This includes highway riding, street riding, and even sharp turns at slow speeds, everything seemed to be in good working order. Which leads me to today....I signed up for some ride for autism that is set to go down tomorrow, I was preparing the bike for the ride...installed the new sissy bar, washed the bike, checked the oil, and aired up the tires. Needles to say the front tire was empty, the rear had 10 psig. I am just a horrible biker Ted. I hope it holds the air overnight since I think I may have damaged the tire and/or the inner tube!

Uninspired!

I have been feeling a little uninspired as of late. I am tired from working too many night shifts, and once again with a couple of cool days in a row they called to shut both units down, of course it was another night that I was working. It is getting really close to the day I travel up to the Northwest with my girlfriend, she travels for work and I tag along sometimes if I have some time off! Hopefully this time I won't get swindled into volunteering like last time I tagged along. The plan will be to fly out to Seattle the 26th of this month and fly back on the 2nd. of October. I still need to make some some reservations as far as car/lodging goes, but I think I will have everything figured out at the end of the week!

Plus 5 will be the number of hours I will be working this pay period, so the the first half of this month I will be extremely busy here at work.

On the home front many things have happened here which I am very proud of! I finally ordered some sissy bars and a luggage rack for my bike, this in preparation for a bike ride that I will be doing on the 17th of this month!!! I got my carpet at the house steam cleaned, and it did not cost me one single cent! I got a chance to talk with an old friend who I used to gamble with, he told me of how he visited an old hangout we used to frequent about 3 years ago. The funny thing is that out of the usual suspects (Mike, Kevin, and Myself), I was the one they remembered. I guess you know you are addicted to gambling when the dealer remembers you three years after even setting foot in the place!
